 Updating to v.2.7

If you modified the theme files, and for some reasons you don’t want to update the entire theme but you need only update the Slider Revolution plugin, do the following:

  • Login to your web server through your favorite FTP client then navigate to your old theme directory via to wp-content/themes/Gameleon/functions and comment out the following code:

/* INCLUDE REVOLUTION SLIDER */
$revslider = get_template_directory() . '/includes/sliders/revslider/revslider.php';
include $revslider;

//Fixing empty sidebar widgets on dashboard at the first theme install
if(get_option(‘tigu_revslider_active’, ‘0’) == ‘0’) {
if(!class_exists(‘RevSliderAdmin’)) {
$revslider_admin_hook = get_template_directory() . ‘/includes/sliders/revslider/revslider_admin.php’;
include $revslider_admin_hook;
}
$revslider_admin = new RevSliderAdmin($revslider);
$revslider_admin->onActivate();
update_option(‘tigu_revslider_active’, ‘1’);
}

  • Unzip the theme downloaded from Themeforest.net to a folder, in this folder you will find a file called Gameleon.zip.
  • Unzip the theme (Gameleon.zip)
  • You will find a zip file of “revslider” to the following directory: Gameleon/includes/plugins/.
  • Install it as a normal plugin by uploading it through admin dashboard or unzip the file and upload the “revslider” folder to wp-content/plugin/ directory.
  • That’s all.

Note that the v2.7+ does not support submenus on the top menu, therefore you must adjust the top menu configuration accordingly.

Updating to v.3.0

Since Blog style has changed (using large images), you need to use (again) Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin. Also, if you use  Blog style instead of Magazine, we recommend you that the images used to have at least 664 px in width.

11 Translating the theme

  1. Download the PO edit free software from here http://www.poedit.net/
  2. Navigate to your theme folder Gameleon/languages
  3. Using Poedid software, open gameleon.po file
  4. Translate/change words in any language you want, then save the file to your hard drive changing its name according to your language code, e.g. for the French – Français you must save it as fr_FR.po Please make sure that you have selected All files on save, so the software will generate a .mo file too, which also need to be renamed according to your language code.
  5. Delete the dafault gameleon.po and gameleon.mo files from your languages folder then upload the new ones you’ve just saved(.mo and .po) to Gameleon/languages.
  6. Navigate to your main WordPress directory, open wp-config.php and search for:
    define('WPLANG', '');
  7. Change it according to your language code and files you’ve just saved with poedit, e.g. for the French – Français you must add: define('WPLANG', 'fr_FR');
  8. Another example: for the Portuguese spoken in Brazil you must add: define('WPLANG', 'pt_BR');

Once you’ve added your language code, save the wp-config.php file. That’s all!
