This documentation file helps you to understand how it works.

Let's get it started!

Important!

Due to recently jQuery Core update, we had to give up our old Theme options panel and move all the theme options to Appearance - Customize. As a result of this important update, we recommend that you install a maintenance plugin and activate it for as long as 15 minutes to reconfigure certain theme options and settings.

After updating the theme, please review the important options and widgets area via Appearance and visit the home page to check if everything is fine.

Via FTP:

1. Extract the gameleon.zip file and upload the extracted folder to the /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server.
2. Go to Appearance > Themes.
3. Click on "Activate" to select your theme.

Via WordPress:

1. Extract the contents of the downloaded zip file to your computer.
2. In your Wordpress admin, go to Appearance > Themes and click the Add New button on the top and after Upload Theme button.

3. Browse the folder where you extracted the previous zip file, and select the file called gameleon.zip.
4. Click Install Now button and then click Activate link .

1. In Appearance > Themes select Begin installing plugins link.
2. Select Required plugins checkboxes and the Recomended plugins (if you want to use it) from the list
3. Choose Install in select box.
4. Click Apply button.

You should get All installations and activations have been completed message after the successfull instalation.

If you use this theme first time, we are recommend you to import Demo Data

It contains menus, sample pages, posts and images to help you to understand how the theme works.

1. Navigate to Appearance > 1 Click Demo.
2. Select the theme you want to import and click Import button.
3. Wait up to few minutes for importing process complete.

attention Before you begin, make sure all the required plugins are activated and you don't have any widgets active on any of your sidebars. We recommend using this option for new WordPress installations.

You can easily customize your theme using the live customizer.

Go to Apperance > Customize to manage your theme options.

Apperance > Customize > Header > Header Constructor

Header Layout Manager

Gameleon theme has a awesome feature that allows you to drag and drop the desired block to easy build your header with few clicks:

To activate the theme as a Magazine go to your Appearance > Customize > General and locate the Homepage Layout then select the Magazine layout option.

Since the building of the homepage is done with widgets, all you have to do is access the Widgets section and choose which widgets you want to appear on you homepage.

To set widgets for your Homepage go to Appearance > Widgets on Wordpress main menu.

On the right side you'll see 2 widgets sections, Home Page and Home Wide.

Just drag & drop a widget you want to display into the desired section.

attention Please be sure you have installed "Gameleon Widgets" plugin to anable custom widgets.

Latest, Popular and Hot pages

The Gameleon Theme needs to create some pages to look and work like the demo site. To create a page, navigate to Pages » All Pages and select Add New Page on you WordPress dashboard. Type your desired page title then do the following:

• On the right menu, locate the drop-down menu called Attributes
• On the Template label, choose the page template file that you need to create and hit the Publish button.

These are pages that can be created with their names on Template label selection:

• All Posts Template
• Most Popular Template
• Most Viewed/Played
• Blog Template
• Full Width Template

attention To make the links on these pages visible, you need to create and configure the Right Menu via Appearance > Menus

• Download the PO edit free software from here https://poedit.net/
• Navigate to your theme folder Gameleon/languages
• Using Poedid software, open gameleon.po file
• Translate/change words in any language you want, then save the file to your hard drive changing its name according to your language code, e.g. for the French – Français you must save it as fr_FR.po Please make sure that you have selected All files on save, so the software will generate a .mo file too, which also need to be renamed according to your language code.
• Delete the dafault gameleon.po and gameleon.mo files from your languages folder then upload the new ones you’ve just saved(.mo and .po) to Gameleon/languages.
• Navigate to your main WordPress directory, open wp-config.php and search for:

  define('WPLANG', '');

• Change it according to your language code and files you’ve just saved with poedit, e.g. for the French – Français you must add:

  define('WPLANG', 'fr_FR');

• Another example: for the Portuguese spoken in Brazil you must add:

  define('WPLANG', 'pt_BR');

Once you’ve added your language code, save the wp-config.php file. That’s all!

The only option you should consider is the game format which can be horizontal or vertical. Depending on the game format, in the game(post) editing page, you have the option to set the game format, Landscape or Vertical, as in the image below:

attention The theme is compatible with MyArcadePlugin Pro. The MyArcadePlugin Pro is not included in theme download package.

To create your Menu:

1. Go to Appearance > Menus
2. Click create a new menu link and enter your menu name
3. Click Create Menu button
4. Select menu items from the left side and click Add to Menu button
5. Save the menu

First, please be sure that you have installed and activated the Contact Form 7 plugin.

Creating a contact form

On your WordPress Main menu, go to Contact > Add New

In the Form tab you can see a simple form code for display on your contact page.

In this form you can add telephone, checkboxes, drop-down menu, etc. if you need.

These options available on the top of the form.

In the Mail tab you can edit your email, from, subject and message body.

important Please be sure to navigate to the "Mail" tab and insert your own email address in 'To:' field.

In the Messages tab you can edit your email, from, subject and message body.

After setting up your form, click the Save button.

You'll see generated code snippet at the top of the page, highlighted in blue.

Copy this code to paste into your contact Page.

Creating the page

Create a new "Contact Me" page in Pages > Add New.

Paste your previously generatad short code in the text box on the create/edit page .

Save your contact page. Link to Contact page will appear in your top menu.

Lightbox

Issue: When clicking on an image that is linking to an external site, it dosn't open the external site, but Lightbox tries to open the image itself instead.

Solution: To disable the lightbox for an image that is linking to an external website, follow this simple steps:

• Click on the linked image via post editor screen
• Click to edit the image, open Advanced Options section then add the td-no-lightbox class to the Link CSS Class field.
• Update your post.
